Hi, I'm Ericka Romer.
I was born and raised in California and moved to Utah in 2016.
I was handed my first camera in 9th grade by my Yearbook teacher, Mrs. Earnest. She challenged me to try something new instead of painting and drawing...and I really was never the same after that haha.
That next year I was awarded 1st place in a high school photo contest and named Photographer of the year. Shortly after, I was booking weddings, graduation pictures for my own classmates, family portraits and so much more. I fell so in love with photography and what I was capable of doing with my camera. I was able to express happiness with candids of my sisters and I growing up, gratitude with shots of family dinners and momentous steps, joy with shots of my friend's weddings, grief and sadness with memorial pictures at my dad's funeral, and pictures of hope with me and my husband becoming a family. That's why I take pictures.
My company is called Skyline Photography to commemorate my dad’s old contracting company Skyline Property Services. I hope to convey my creativity through my photography much like my dad did through the homes he built, the powered paragliders he designed, and his beautiful wood working projects.
For me, photography isn't about making money...it is a part of who I am. If I never got paid for a shoot again, i'd be exactly where I am today, dragging my camera along. If there is one thing I learned from my dad it's that life is fleeting and capturing these moments in life, to help us remember them, is so important! I would give anything to be able to go back and take more pictures with my dad.
So, please don't let this happen to you. You can't get those moments back. Let me capture your precious moments so that you can cherish them always. You can have these beautiful and professional photos forever, and for me, that's priceless.
